RHA’s Mission
RHA stands for the Residence Hall Association and we represent the concerns of over 9,000 residents before the Administration of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, provide diverse social, educational, and philanthropic programs within the residence halls, manage community enhancements, facilitate recognition of residence hall leaders, and foster a sense of community and belonging for all students at Carolina.
RHA is the 3rd largest on-campus organization, with over 200 student leaders and membership spread over 15 communities. Run entirely by student volunteers, RHA, while separate from Housing, maintains a close relationship with Carolina Housing and provides student representation to Housing. We are advised by Housing staff and work to advocate for the residents!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Connecting with residents in light of our community's recent events CW,TW: death, mental health As we mourn the recent losses of cherished members of our UNC community, RHA is looking to how we can push for mental health solutions and provide spaces of refuge and solidarity. In addition to advocating for permanent trained mental health individuals in residential communities, we are offering events across campus where any student (on or off-campus) can connect with their fellow students and enjoy free food. Swing by RHA Executive Board office hours in Union 2504 next week for free coffee, hot chocolate, and a listening ear (should you want one). Any suggestions for how RHA can best utilize our platform for mental health advocacy are welcome – our DMs and emails (rha@unc.edu and rha.unc@gmail.com) are open.
