What is a Community Governor? Your governor appoints a government of his or her peers to plan fun events for the community, purchase new items for the community office, and advocates for residential needs to the University and outside organizations.

Meet the Candidates!

Mackenzie Ammann
Goals for the Year:
-I would like to create a sense of transparency between RHA Staff and residents
-I would like to organize stress-relieving activities prior to midterms and finals
Leadership Experience:
-I worked as a Legislative Assistant for the NC Senate this summer
-I am the VP of Leadership Development for Sigma Alpha Lambda Honor Society
-I am a Mental Health Ambassador for CAPS

Ayan Ajeen
Goals for the Year:
Increase attendance at programs by working with RA’s and residents to organize fun new events and bring back the classics that we love.
Promote a safe accepting environment that encourages diversity and academic success.
Leadership Experience:
Student Government Communications Task Force and Committee on Student Conduct
ESL tutor for the local refugee community
Research assistant in neurocognition and imaging lab and Dental Technicians Assistant

Paulina Powierza
Goals for the Year:
– I will plan fun, interactive and food-filled events and socials for residents to meet other residents from their halls and their community.
– I will support diversity and inclusion of all residents and have a suggestion box at events for residents to make event recommendations.
– I will encourage sustainability practices at every event and increase green games points from last year.
Leadership Experience:
– I helped plan numerous events, like Cobbwarts and Cobb Taco Nights, as a member of Cobb Community Government my sophomore year.
– I served on the Carolina Union Employee Forum as an event planner and board member, planning events for hundreds of student employees as a sophomore and junior.
– I served on the RHA Collab Board last year as a junior, where I voted on specific grant recommendations for campus wide events and learned how to manage grant and budget requests.
